Sprimag's Round Screen Coating Machines

The first screen printing machine for manual and fully automatic coating of engine pistons with graphite paste or molybdenum

The new product line PiCo electronic of Sprimag revolutionizes the rotary printing process. The PiCo electronic was developed for industrial customers to apply graphite paste or lubrication paint to motor pistons for passenger and commercial vehicles.

The Sprimag engineering group has designed a system that incorporates fully automatic handling equipment, video measurement, a drying oven, and proportioning / conveyor systems. This system is able to print not only on pistons, but on most cylindrical parts.

Compared to previous screen printing machines the innovative technology of the PiCo electronic of Sprimag offers a variety of advantages.

Advantages of the screen printing method :

  • Coating material savings of by 60 - 80 % compared to conventional
         spray coating method.
  • Uniform application of 5 to 25 microns with a thickness tolerance of
         ± 2 microns.
  • No air cleaning system required. Productivity is increased due to
         only 3 minute setup time.
  • Allows the application of clearly defined, high-precision shapes
         and very accurate edges.
  • The PiCo electronic system can be easily integrated into a fully
         automated production line.
