Sprimag's Flat Silkscreen Coating Machine - Sprimatic Rs 700
The Concept :
Continuous printing with rotary silkscreen cylinder
The Purpose :
To print faster, be versatile in accommodating different materials and workpiece carriers (sheet, roller),
achieve maximum numbers of impressions from one silkscreen and to being able to use existing pre-pressing
equipment.
The Patented Idea :
To fit the silkscreen with tensioning and sealing rails, and with a register locating rail, so that
it is removable.
Throughputs of 10,000 parts / hour are possible. With this Sprimatic rotary silkscreen printing system, there is
no movement in the opposite direction. There is also no interval between the individual impressions. The
important increase in speed is made possible by the continuous movement.
Impressively Versatile
The Sprimatic system was conceived as a modular design for versatility. The feed system can accommodate
many different materials with heights up to 100 mm. An endless blanket of precise thickness was selected. It
can stand up to both the solvents used in silkscreen printing and the effect of UV radiation. Vacuum is applied
to the blanket so that the objects to be printed will be held and then transported through the machine securely.
SPRIMATIC RS 700 - The patented solution
The aim was to print as many impressions with one silkscreen as possible. The cylindrical arrangement operates
with almost zero distance to the silkscreen. The steel weave and low stress on the screen combine to provide
a long working life, ensuring accurate register and precision. Existing pre-pressing equipment for flat
silkscreen printing can generally be used. The silkscreen is fitted with lateral tensioning and sealing profile
rails and, in the transverse direction, with register locating rails.
The Printing Head
The printing head can be extracted to the side for problem-free exchange of the silkscreen. The silkscreen and
the squeegee are driven in synchronisation by servo motors mounted on both sides. The squeegee movement
and the print setting are motorised. The ink feed incorporates an automatic filling level monitor on the squeegee
and controls the ink volume for the silkscreen.
The Feed System
The material is fed by means of a printing blanket to which vacuum is applied. The printing blanket is of a precise
thickness, UV radiation resistant, and with anti-static properties.
The Dryer
This consists of a cool radiation curing system. The radiation is generated by means of gas discharge lamps
in the low power range.
The Machine Control System
The machine is controlled with the aid of a self explanatory touch panel on which all functions can be set. The
control employs a virtual axis for synchronisation and communication is via 'Profibus' or fibre-optics. The
Siemens S 7 - 300 system is used.
